The Scale Bar Tool is located in the Adornments Tab and is used to place a scale bar or scale line to your map that is in a fixed position, regardless of panning, and will be carried over to your Print map.
Name - The name of the scale referenced by the editor
Location - Sets where the label will appear on the map
Left and Top Offset - Offsets the Location by a number of pixels. This can be a positive or negative number.
Background - Sets an Area Style that will act as a background for the scale
Type - Sets if the scale will be a scale line, showing two different measurements, or a scale bar, showing one measurement.
Size - Sets the Width and Height of the scale
Maximum Width and Thickness - Sets the maximum Width and Thickness of a Scale Bar
Color - Sets the primary color for a Scale Bar
Alternating Color - Sets the secondary color for a Scale Bar
Numeric Format - Sets number formatting type of the Scale Bar numbers
Unit System - Sets what type of units will be displayed on the scale
