The North Arrow Tool is located in the Adornments Tab and is used to place a north arrow or other custom image to your map that is in a fixed position, regardless of panning, and will be carried over to your Print map.
The North Arrow Tool will open up the North Arrow window and display a preset number of images for a directional arrow. If you do not wish to use the preset images, you can always use the browse function to find a custom image on your computer and use that. Regardless of what image you use, the preview panel will show you what your image will look like on the map.
Location - Sets where the North Arrow will be placed on the map
Left and Top Offset - Offsets the Location by a number of pixels. This can be a positive or negative number.
Size - Sets the image to either be sized automatically or a fixed size based on the Width and Height on the right hand side
