The Select Features tab is located on your ribbon bar. This section offers many tools to select and find data on the map.
The first item in the Select Features tab is the Selection Layers, or the layers that you can select from in your project. By default this is set to all of your layers in your project. Using the drop down menu, you can select and deselect any layers you do and do not want to select from.
The Select Tool is your most basic form of selecting features in your map. Clicking on a feature will select it, represented by the Selection color. You can select multiple features with this tool by holding down shift and clicking on multiple features.
The other selection tools, Rectangle, Polygon, Circle, and Line, select features by drawing shapes on the map and selecting anything based on whatever Selection Mode you are using. The Selection Mode has five different modes:
The Zoom to Selected tool zooms the map's view to the selected features as close as possible while still showing all selected features.
Once you are done with your selections, you can use the Clear button to deselect all selected features.
