====== GIS Editor Lesson 11: Getting Your Maps Ready for Presentation ====== ===== Adding Adornments ===== Adornments are simple to add through the editor. Adornments are graphical items that appear on top of your map and remain in a fixed position even as you pan and zoom. They are often informational, and include things like titles, scale bars, north arrows and legends. This way you can see them no matter where you are on the map. In our project, we are wanting to add a title and legend to help to user identify color codes and symbols that we have in our map. ===== Adding a Title ===== To add a title locate the adornment tab and select the title option. This will prompt you with a styler for the title where you can tailor your title to fit your purpose. The screen shot below shows the settings for the title in our project. {{wiki:Adding Title.png?480}} ===== Adding a legend ===== To add a legend select the legend button next to the title button we just used. Add a new legend and this brings up the legend Editor. From here, you can set your legend and entries as well as legend titles. {{wiki:Adding Legend.png?480}} Below shows you the information you need for our project. {{wiki:Legend Data.png?480}} Now that you have your legend set add it to your project and notice how it remains stationary as you pan and zoom.
